"I've learned that this decades-old restaurant, whose website still reads “new chef, new vibe, it’s a whole new feel,” is back on the market and closed recently, with owner Craig Trentecosta looking for a buyer after a potential purchaser backed out, Eater NOLA confirmed. A Craigslist ad bills it as “Great opportunity to own a New Orleans landmark restaurant and bar,” noting that all equipment and furnishing are included, all licenses were recently renewed, the business and equipment are listed at $150,000, and a new long-term lease is $6,500 triple net (contact Michael Laughlin for details). The spot opened in 1979 and moved to its current location the following year, and over the years Carol Channing, Elizabeth Taylor, and Richard Burton spent time there. In recent years it has struggled to gain footing with frequent ownership changes: Jim Baird bought it in 1983 and ran it until 2014; Tony Marino bought it in 2014 and nearly changed the restaurant’s name in 2015 amid menu changes and an interior renovation; Trentecosta bought it in 2016 and has owned it for the last two years." - Stephanie Carter
