"Located at 2211 Oneida Street in Park Hill’s Oneida Park shopping area, Dang Soft Serve Ice Cream debuts as Little Man’s first soft-serve shop and I was struck by its playful, modern vibe and bold design. The 1,500-square-foot space—with a slanted roof, big swaths of bright color, lava lamp–like patterns, blocks of purple and turquoise, and chairs shaped like outstretched hands—includes an open area for kids and aims to provoke a “dang” reaction from customers. Dang will serve eight soft-serve flavors at a time (the chef has already produced more than 90), including Mexican Chocolate, Caramel Corn, Dreamsicle, and Iced Matcha, with each machine holding two flavors so customers can order twists such as Chocolate Ganache with Dreamsicle and ’Nilla Eclipse with Black Raspberry. I liked that the menu goes beyond cones and cups—offering sundaes, Blizzard-like “bomb cyclones,” and, for the first time in the Little Man brand, french fries (intended to be dipped into soft serve)—and that customers can adorn orders with one or more of 30 toppings and dips, from Bourdeaux Cherries to strawberry, chocolate and cookie butter Magic Shells, for what the company promises will be “Insta-worthy” creations. Dang will open with a ribbon cutting and an 1980s silent disco costume ball, and plans to operate 11 a.m.–10 p.m. Sunday–Thursday and 11 a.m.–11 p.m. Friday–Saturday." - Paul Albani-Burgio
