"Backed by Skip Englebrecht and Nicolette Valdespino, Pigalle brings a Parisian cabaret vibe and design aesthetic to Lower Alabama Street in Underground Atlanta, opening with burlesque, drama, and a hidden absinthe bar behind the theater. The main space channels the Pigalle/Moulin Rouge spirit with gilded mirrors and lamps, marble busts, red neon lights, servers clad in cabaret attire, and a wraparound porch lit by gas lamps, while the absinthe bar behind the theater shifts to a more modern feel with leopard-print wallpaper, vibrant blues and greens, and a 33-foot bar. Englebrecht and Fishmonger beverage director Caleb Grubb oversee cocktails and a small food menu; Grubb plans absinthe tastings and cocktails, classic cocktails, beer and wine to pair with charcuterie and cheese boards and other snacks from chef Darryl Taylor, and a walk-up window will serve frozen drinks including frozen Irish coffee. Memberships are available by invitation only for $350 per year, offering private burlesque and musical shows, discounts, and exclusive absinthe-bar access twice a month." - Beth McKibben
