"Opening Saturday, April 13 at 11 a.m., the Danny Meyer–backed Shake Shack on the Beltline’s Edge brings its fourth Atlanta location to 670 DeKalb Avenue NE, Suite 103. In addition to Shack classics like the ShackBurger, flat-top hot dogs, shakes, and crinkle fries, the O4W spot offers frozen custards with a local slant — a vanilla concrete called Pie Oh My made with H&F Bread Company’s pecan pie (5% of Pie Oh My sales benefit nonprofit Giving Kitchen), another concrete with salted caramel sauce, dark chocolate chunks, and chocolate toffee from Krog Street Market’s Xocolatl chocolates, and a Peachtree shake made with peaches and salted caramel. The menu also features several local beers from Monday Night Brewing, SweetWater Brewing Company, Three Taverns Brewery, and Creature Comforts, plus wine, and the first 100 people in line for the opening receive a free custom Social Status t-shirt. Atlanta-based design firm Smith Hanes incorporated recycled and sustainable materials into the eco-friendly interior — booths of Forest Stewardship Council–certified lumber and tabletops by CounterEvolution made from reclaimed bowling alley lanes — and Atlanta artist David Fratu created a mural for the outdoor patio, positioning the Shack among future neighbors such as Chef Kevin Gillespie’s Beltline beer garden Cold Beer and all-day cafe and wine bar Hazel Jane’s within the Edge complex along the Eastside trail." - Beth McKibben
