Black Box Coffee Shop Opens at Orbital Comics in Covent Garden | Eater London

"Anthony West, the barista behind the formerly beloved The Black Chapel in Wandsworth, has returned to Covent Garden to open a new coffee operation at 8 Great Newport Street alongside Orbital Comics. After a four-month COVID-19 delay he is trialling a limited service roughly 10 a.m.–2 p.m. daily, currently takeaway-only while the comic-book space is refurbished. West originally planned a zero-waste, no-takeaway-cup approach and a lineup of vegan desserts — tiramisu, brownies, a Japanese coffee jelly and a coffee cream likened to the dalgona-coffee trend — but has parked those elements until dining restrictions ease. The setup emphasizes excellent drinks, wholebean sales and vintage espresso machines in a much larger, more central space than his previous idiosyncratic destination shop; he has asked that only those who “have a reason” to be in the area visit as he feels out the location." - James Hansen
