"Located at 2700 16th Street (at Harrison) in the Mission, this new LGBTQ nightlife home opens with a ribbon-cutting on Saturday, December 15 and is led by owners Jolene Linsangan, Ashleigh Wilson, and Shannon Amitin. I see they promise a “curated dining and cocktail experience fueled by live music and performance, with deep roots in the underground nightlife scene,” offering nightly entertainment, NorCal bar food, and craft cocktails. The bar will host popular queer parties like the relaunch of UHAUL SF (which will become a weekly fixture; the first UHAUL takes place Friday, December 14, one night before Jolene’s formal opening) and other events such as the queer hip hop party Swagger Like Us. In an Instagram note they thanked Supervisor Rafael Mandelman, state senator Scott Wiener, City College Trustee and Virgil’s Sea Room owner Tom Temprano, and SF drag icon Juanita More!, who recently took over the kitchen at the bar Jones. The owners emphasize that the space will be safe and accepting for queer people — “Here, you will be at home.”" - Caleb Pershan
