"Planned to open this summer at 3250 N. Tenaya Way in the same strip mall as the Target at Cheyenne Avenue and Tenaya Way, La Cantine is a sister restaurant to OhLaLa French Bistro that focuses on sandwiches: diners choose a bread (brioche, ciabatta, croissant, Dutch crunch, or baguette), then a meat such as pastrami, roast beef, pulled chicken, prosciutto, bacon, turkey, duck pate, or salami, followed by a cheese, condiments, and sauces including poivre, spicy ranch, garlic confit with herbs, zesty barbecue, or bleu cheese. I note chef’s selections like a French dip and a pastrami rueben in the $8–$15 range; other offerings include quiches, soups, and Buddha bowls with a rice, greens, or “base of the month” topped with sauce, proteins, and vegetables starting at $8. The dessert menu is extensive, featuring gelato (pistachio, strawberry, mango, lemon, salted caramel), cookies, pain du chocolat, apple turnovers, and macarons priced $1.50–$7, and the planned hours are Monday–Friday 10:30 a.m.–7 p.m. and Saturday 11 a.m.–4 p.m." - Susan Stapleton
