"After operating for decades in Washington, D.C., I learned that the Dubliner is suing a newly opened Boston pub of the same name for alleged trademark infringement: it is demanding that the Boston bar change its name and hand over all profits made since it opened last fall. The D.C. pub says the similar names are causing customer confusion nationwide and points out that it sells Dubliner-branded Irish whiskey across the U.S., including in Boston; it sent a cease-and-desist to co-owner Oran McGonagle last October and has now filed an official lawsuit in U.S. District Court in Boston seeking disgorgement of profits, legal fees, and other damages." - Erika Adams
