"Opened in 2010 by Kavachi Ukegbu while she was a senior at the University of Houston’s Hilton College, Peppersoup Cafe focused on pepper soup, a spicy seasoned Nigerian soup. It was Ukegbu's first restaurant, located across from her mother’s Nigerian restaurant, Safari. Although it closed in 2011, it marked the beginning of Ukegbu's journey to amplify West African foods." - Brittany Britto Garley
