"Post-Katrina comeback restaurant Gabrielle now serves lunch, offering weekly off menu specials like Sicilian stuffed artichokes, oyster and artichoke soup, and fried green tomatoes with lobster thermador sauce. The restaurant was a darling for national critics and residents alike before being forced to close its doors after Hurricane Katrina. Owners Greg and Mary Sonnier reopened Gabrielle (named after their daughter) in Mid City last year and quickly reclaimed its former standing as a favorite among locals.
