"Making its Mar Vista debut on March 19, Rasselbock Kitchen & Beer Garden is a new beer garden and German-centric restaurant from the Wirsthaus team (owners Bjoern Risse and Bülent Yildirim), who previously opened Wirsthaus in 2011 and the first Long Beach Rasselbock in 2016. The team converted an old space into a casual indoor/outdoor biergarten with communal tables and a roughly 2,000-square-foot dining room centered on a 13-seat bar, offering wines, cocktails, a mostly-European draft selection and a full menu. The drinking lineup features twelve beers on tap, including an Austrian radler, a Belgian sour, a Dutch quadrupel, and a Weihenstephaner lager from a brewery operating since the year 1040. The food balances contemporary selections with traditional German dishes—brussel sprouts, kale salad, pork belly sliders with beef goulash, schnitzel, wurst sausage, and spaetzle (German egg noodle dumplings)—and is described as fairly friendly to gluten-free and vegetarian diners. Positioned a block from Bowlero, Mitsuwa Marketplace, Oaxacan favorite Quiadaiyn, and the newly-expanded accomplice bar (whose reopening was delayed due to an electric fire in the adjacent yoga studio), it aims to be a new walkable neighborhood option; initial hours are Mon–Thu 5 p.m.–midnight, Fri–Sat 11 a.m.–2 a.m., and Sun 11 a.m.–midnight." - Mona Holmes
