Elbo Room Space Reopening as New SF Bar and Venue the Valencia Room | Eater SF

"Once a lovably dark downstairs bar and upstairs music venue at 647 Valencia Street, the Elbo Room was a longtime Mission staple whose uncertain future prompted a drawn-out development fight and, in December, a bereft farewell from fans. Its operators Matt Shapiro and Erik Cantu chose to invest elsewhere (opening another Elbo Room in Oakland) and sold the liquor license to the new team; the Elbo Room’s owners had also honored local history by hoisting the old Amelia’s sign every Pride weekend." - Caleb Pershan
