"Part of a U.S. chain with about 10 locations, this Chinatown outpost serves the Hawaiian-origin mochi doughnut: pon de ring-shaped treats made from Japanese rice cakes and fried like American doughnuts for a crispy exterior and chewy interior. Flavors include yuzu, ube, taro, pistachio, mango, black sesame, Nutella and banana milk. The menu also highlights Korean-style corn dogs on a stick—filled with sausage and mozzarella in a rice-flour batter that can be upgraded with crispy ramen or potato—and the batter-dipped sticks are deep-fried to order. A large roster of teas complements the sweets, ranging from milk teas and cheese-foam options to fresh-fruit varieties, with signature drinks such as mocha messy strawberry milk, Oreo brûlée matcha milk and brûlée avocado smash. The shop replaced a karaoke-and-skewers venue near Arville Street and Sushi Kaya and has plans to open another location in Henderson." - Susan Stapleton
