"A whisky-forward neighborhood bar in James Island’s Terrace Plaza, Paddock & Whisky — from owners Reid Stone and Chris Van Liew — centers on all things bourbon with a rotating roster of rare bourbons and whiskys on the back bar, more than 50 rare bourbons, six options for well whisky, wines, rotating local draft beers, and craft cocktails. Classic cocktails include renditions of a Sazerac, Manhattan, maple Old Fashioned, Brown Derby, and boulvadier, all priced between $7 and $10. Taylor Garrigan, the executive chef at Home Team BBQ who won on the Food Network’s Chopped, created the snack menu, which features a muffuletta, a turkey Russian, Southern pimento cheese, and meat-and-cheese plates, with snacks ranging $6 to $15 (snack boards up to $15). The space features a hand-burned wood bar, a large garage-style retractable window, and an outside patio." - Susan Stapleton
