Petworth’s Capitol Cider House Will Start Pouring on Friday | Eater DC

"Opening just in time for the weekend, Capitol Cider House (CCH) is a 3,000-square-foot production facility and tasting room at 3930 Georgia Avenue NW that began taking shape last winter and was scheduled to open at 4 p.m. on Friday, July 20. Founder Jared Fackrell told Eater he finished pressing half of a freshly delivered fruit shipment — about 3,000 pounds of apples — shortly before the opening, and the space will pour mainly gluten-free ciders from a dozen taps (along with bottled ciders, wine, and cocktails), with tastings starting at $3 and glasses peaking at $11. A planned grand-opening party is split into two ticketed sessions with live music and includes a pour and a branded tulip glass to take home; food will come from Union Market vendors (Sri Lanka–inspired Short Eats and empanadas from M’Panadas), plus hot dogs and charcuterie plates.
