"Mikado was a high volume, no-frills, mainly carryout sushi bar on Sixth Avenue in Greenwich Village that moved around the corner onto 14th Street in Chelsea, adding a nicely designed series of dining rooms. Now there are six locations total, including one in Queens and two in Brooklyn. A three-roll maki set is $27, while a deluxe sushi assortment of nine nigiri and a maki roll comes in at $48. Even on the less-expensive assortments, some very refined pieces of sushi sometimes appear." - Robert Sietsema
