"Fluffy flour tortillas filled with smoked brisket have arrived on Northeast Alberta Street: the Tex-Mex spinoff of Portland’s celebrated barbecue cart moved into Great Notion Brewing’s Northeast Portland location on November 2 with its full menu of tacos and snacks. Originally opened as a Southeast Hawthorne cart in 2019 by pitmaster Matt Vicedomini, the cart had already won acclaim for slow-smoked brisket and snappy sausages and became known for breakfast tacos built on soft, lard-and-flour tortillas layered with eggs and smoked meats such as chopped brisket, pork belly, and pulled pork; some versions add potatoes or refried beans but the focus remains on the eggs and meat. In the afternoon many smoked-meat tacos swap eggs for guacamole and pickled onions, while a migas taco—eggs scrambled with pico de gallo fixings and tortilla chips—became a brunch standby.
