Penny’s Noodle Shop is back open in Wrigleyville after six years | Eater Chicago

"I'm glad to see a longtime Thai favorite back in Wrigleyville: Penny’s Noodle Shop has reclaimed the space at 3400 N. Sheffield Avenue that it vacated nearly six years ago after spending 23 years at the corner of Sheffield and Roscoe and then operating at 950 W. Diversey Parkway. The original crews from the Wicker Park and Lakeview restaurants have returned to cook while manager Areerat Potikul and her sister are now running the restaurant. Known as a pioneer in Chicago for affordable, comforting and consistent Thai noodles and soups, Penny’s still operates a location in Oak Park (its Northfield spot is now PSN Noodles), and its return completes a series of Lakeview Thai restaurant shuffles that included Andy’s Thai Kitchen moving into Penny’s Diversey space. Penny’s is open at 3400 N. Sheffield Avenue — open 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Monday to Thursday; 11 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. on Friday and Sunday; 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Sunday." - Ashok Selvam
