Austin Wine Bar Wanderlust Wine Company Opens New Taproom in Zilker | Eater Austin

"At the Zilker tasting room (1601 Barton Springs Road), I visited the third Wanderlust Wine Company location, which opened April 1 and focuses on tapped natural wines alongside tacos from TJ Tacos and coffee from Vision. The wine offerings include global varietals such as pet-nats, sauvignon blanc, verdejo, chardonnay, tempranillo, grenache, and an amber and orange blend, and the menu also features sangrias, margaritas, spiked cold brews, charcuterie boards, and snacks. Services are currently limited, but owner Sammy Lam says a larger wine menu, an online ordering system, and more usable space should be available by the summer; there are plans to open previously inaccessible areas for events and live music, add a to-go window, create wine-tasting rooms, and build a wine shop with a cave and cellar retail area described as having a “speakeasy vibe.” The shop will also begin selling its own wines to-go in boxed packaging to promote sustainability. The original Wanderlust opened downtown in 2020 with a follow-up in East Austin in 2021, and those locations have over 80 wines on tap. Wanderlust Zilker is open Tuesday to Saturday, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., and from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturdays." - H. Drew Blackburn
