"The retail hummus operation for the fast-casual restaurant Little Sesame just got a major boost: the company, which makes blitzed chickpeas the focal point of its bowls and pitas and touts itself as eco-friendly, began selling three flavors of packaged hummus at Whole Foods with a deal to enter 13 Mid-Atlantic locations. Having introduced its retail hummus in May at farmers’ markets and boutique Foxtrot Market, Little Sesame is offering cups and pints of a “smooth classic” as well as 8-ounce packages of a caramelized onion flavor and a jammy tomato—both of which come with the toppings on the bottom, like yogurt with a hidden layer of fruit—and it sources all of its beans from a regenerative farm in Montana." - Gabe Hiatt
