"Once the more rustic sibling to Babbo, where Mark Ladner helmed the kitchen, this longtime Batali-Bastianich-era restaurant, opened in 1999, has gone quiet while brokers shop its 2,500-square-foot space to multiple restaurateurs—a sign it could be on the brink of closing despite Stephen Starr’s January purchase of both properties. While Babbo returned in late October, Lupa hasn’t made a peep, and the Greenwich Village address is currently being offered at $47,000 a month; the Starr team has declined to comment." - Melissa McCart
