"Since opening in December 2008, L’Artusi has become a West Village fixture. I watched everything come to a halt when the pandemic shut down restaurants in March, and the team quickly pivoted—jumping into delivery and takeout lunch service a few months before indoor dining was banned and then expanding into a more robust takeout and meal-kit menu throughout the pandemic. As managing partner Kevin Garry says, “L’Artusi is about the experience,” and while the restaurant emphasizes that dining in is central, limited kitchen capacity to handle to‑go orders alongside on‑site diners (it also includes about seven outdoor tables along West 10th Street) prompted the team to expand with two neighboring concepts." - Bao Ong
