Freed’s Bakery expands North Las Vegas | Eater Vegas

"Opening Oct. 6 in the former Sticks & Shakes location, this 1,160-square-foot dessert shop from the Eastern Avenue bakery made famous on the Food Network's Vegas Cakes will offer a wide range of sweets—pastries, cookies, cake slices, 7-inch round cakes, and sheet cakes for special occasions—plus signature items such as strawberry shortcake, cannoli, and a Parisian cake layered with chocolate, iced in Belgian chocolate–blended whipped cream and topped with chocolate shavings. Customers can order wedding and birthday cakes, all produced at the company's 8,500-square-foot flagship bakery on South Eastern Avenue. A grand opening celebration from noon to 3 p.m. will mark the bakery's 59th anniversary; regular hours will be 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sundays." - Susan Stapleton
