"I learned that Faygo introduced a limited “Firework” flavor to its 50-flavor lineup earlier this month and it’s already sold out; resellers are listing 24-ounce bottles on Facebook for $5–$20 each and even a 24-can case on eBay for $250.90 — as much as 20 times the original price. Faygo told me Firework will run on production lines three times this week and the company is adding a 20-ounce bottle to the original 24-ounce offering; spokeswoman Dawn Burch said, “We’ve already outsold our summer forecast of product!” and that the bottler is working hard to keep up as the company considers making Firework permanent. The new pop is a cherry, blue-raspberry, and lime blend with no caffeine that tastes exactly like the frozen red-white-and-blue Bomb Pop, and the bottle even displays an image of the popsicle. I was reminded that Faygo still produces 50 other 24-ounce flavors each week, and that the brand has been manufactured at 3579 Gratiot Ave. on Detroit’s east side since 1935." - Monica Williams
