Bombay Spice Restaurant & Bar

Vegetarian restaurant · Queensbury

"A Kingsbury institution, Rose is known for its vast, vegetarian, pan-Indian menu stretching from Punjabi fried snacks to Bombay chaats and south-Indian dosa. It also has extensive Desi-Chinese options to go with the bottled condiments on the table (sriracha and that ketchup). Chilli paneer is enough to convince anyone that paneer only reaches its final form when aggressively stir fried until the edges crisp and caramelise, heaped high with onions and peppers. Hong Kong noodles — a spicier version of the ubiquitous Hakka noodles — comes with burnt chillis, crunchy vegetables and the kiss of the wok. Browse the entire menu for the carb-on-carb easter egg hidden in the south Indian section: a dosa needlessly and brilliantly stuffed with Hakka noodles." - Jonathan Nunn

L'Antica Pizzeria da Michele

Pizza restaurant · Lisson Grove

"In 1870, the Condurro family began what was to become a long tradition of master pizza makers in the center of Naples. Michele Condurro, son of Salvatore, perfected the family art of pizza making, whose secrets he had learned from the famous masters in Torre Annunziata who were experts in the preparing and kneading of pizza dough, and the cooking of pizza. The secret of Da Michele’s enduring success is in the use of natural ingredients, and of an old, traditional, time-tested method of leavening pizza dough. L’Antica Pizzeria da Michele has the features of a traditional Pizzeria, and a modern Italian Restaurant, offering a range of typical Italian courses and tasteful Neapolitan specialities in a welcoming setting."
