Miller’s Bar in Dearborn has been sold to a new owner - Eater Detroit
"The ownership from Miller’s Bar in Dearborn announced it was going up for sale back in 2021, calling into question the future of the decades-old stalwart’s iconic burger. Looks like fans can take a collective sigh of relief. The Michigan Avenue bar will remain open, this time under the ownership of local entrepreneur Allie Mallad. Mallad tells the Detroit News that much of the dive bar’s aesthetic charm will remain the same and that wax paper will remain the default vessel for serving the spot’s classic griddled burgers, fries, and onion rings. One key upgrade: the bar will be open seven days a week. Previously, under the ownership of brothers Dennis and Mark Miller, the establishment was open six days a week. Miller’s had been a family-owned destination for more than 80 years, mainly for Dearborn residents but later gained national recognition as word of its no-frills patties before the brothers announced in October 2021 that they were looking to retire and wanted to sell the bar to someone who was willing to carry on its legacy. At the time, the asking price for the bar was listed at more than $4 million, Ali T. Charara, listing agent with Century 21 Curran & Oberski told Crain’s Detroit Business. Just over a year later, brother Dennis Miller died, according to WXYZ.
