"I note that Homestead Breakfast, Lunch & Later opened June 4 at M-K-T Heights, the new shopping and dining destination at 600 North Shepherd Drive, and focuses on the first meal of the day with flavors that echo Houston’s culinary melting pot. The menu includes items such as a Cajun crab Benedict, a breakfast hurache with chorizo and queso fresca, and chicken and waffles with Homestead’s signature buttermilk syrup; the restaurant also offers a $56 breakfast board (biscuits, sausage, bacon, pancakes, and eggs plus four mimosas) that feeds four. The breakfast menu is available all day, and Homestead also serves lunch and dinner dishes like burgers, fajitas, and Cajun plates such as blackened redfish; for now it’s open from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m." - Brittanie Shey
