"Opened in 1997 by French-born Benedicte Ulsas Cooper, this tiny downtown Decatur French spot is a faithful tribute to the Alsace region—its dishes blend French, German, and Swiss influences. The menu highlights classic Alsatian comfort foods such as tarte flambee, spaetzle, and beef bourguignon alongside heartier plates like cassoulet and coq au Riesling, regionally focused wines, and seasonal French tarts and chocolate mousse. The intimate dining room, furnished with simple wooden tables, family photos, and trinkets from the owner’s trips to France, fosters a warm, neighborhood atmosphere that has hosted generations of families, Emory students, first dates, and regulars.
