"Anchoring the luxury hotel after a major refresh, Ace Porter occupies the former McCormick & Schmick’s Seafood & Steaks space and welcomes both hotel guests and the public through a separate arbored street entrance to a 95-seat dining room. Because the hotel is the only one with direct access to Petco Park via an elevated sky bridge, the bar— which stays open late—pays homage to the ballpark with a baseball motif, including chandeliers outfitted with small spheres that resemble baseballs and leather bar seats meant to fit guests like a baseball glove. The baseball theme runs through the menu with categories such as “designated hitters,” “clubhouse,” and “post-game,” and highlights include seven-ounce blackened Angus burgers with crispy cheese, blistered shishito peppers, a chicken and waffle cone sundae, and Frings nachos. Executive chef Wenceslao Zavala, who brings familiarity with Baja California cuisine from his pandemic-era beachside food truck, oversees the menu." - Helen I. Hwang
