"Andiamo Dearborn closes after 17 years, Crain’s Detroit Business reports. Owned by restaurateur Joe Vicari, who also runs over 20 other restaurants, said the decision to close was due to the pandemic and the continued indoor capacity restrictions and 'pauses' in dining service. According to Crain’s, the restaurant lost $2 million dollars with an additional $1 million from its banquet hall since the health crisis began last March. Andiamo’s 60 staff members will be offered employment at other restaurants in the Joe Vicari Restaurant Group. The group closed Andiamo in Sterling Heights last summer. Portillo’s opens in the space in March. A Royal Oak location closed in 2018. Meanwhile, Vicari has three new restaurants in the works in Grosse Pointe Farms, Shelby Township, and Birmingham." - BethMcKibben
