"The burger chain owned by Danny Meyer has eliminated plastic straws at all U.S. locations and will replace them with compostable, plant-based straws. The change was announced on Earth Day via a tweet noting, “We know we’ve got more work to do, but we’re excited to take this small step in helping to protect the environment.” The move coincided with Los Angeles’ new ban on plastic straws for companies with more than 26 employees; the chain currently operates eight locations in Los Angeles.
