"A new sushi and temaki spot at the top of Times Square’s Knickerbocker Hotel (6 Times Square, at 42nd Street) is opening in April; Palmer says, “I want it to be a relaxed spot where people can have a cocktail and order what they want.” Inside, there are 13 seats at the bar and 20 in the lounge. The menu highlights hand rolls, sushi a la carte, sake, and Japanese rum, with an omakase option to follow. Palmer hired chef Taishi Yamaguchi, formerly of Katsuya, Aman, and En Brasserie, to run the kitchen; Yamaguchi—hired back in January—will work alongside executive chef Adam Raksin of the Knickerbocker. The restaurant will also offer menus to the adjacent (and larger) St. Cloud, and is one of several Palmer-run properties in the Knickerbocker, including the newer Charlie Palmer IV and the adjacent St. Cloud Rooftop where he’s been anchored for about a decade." - Melissa McCart
