Miami Beach Restaurateurs Have Mixed Views on New Extreme Spring Break Regulations | Eater Miami

"Located at the Dream Hotel on 11th Street and Collins Avenue, Ralph Pagano’s Naked Taco just celebrated its tenth year in South Beach; March, which should be one of the busiest months, often suffers because of Spring Break — in 2022 we were shut down at 7 p.m. because of the curfew, and this year we’re dealing with no parking, barricades and a heavy police presence. While I appreciate something has to be done to prevent crime, there has to be an alternative to shutting down a vibrant, international city; closing parking and hindering businesses prevents me from making business on Miami Beach — I pay the taxes but don’t get the service. The past weekend felt atypical, with police cars lining Collins Avenue, scant pedestrian traffic and even a horseback rider, and I’d love for Spring Break to become an event like Art Basel or the South Beach Wine & Food Festival." - Laine Doss
