"East Austin restaurant The Hightower is closing, as announced on social media. Its last day of service on 1209 East 7th Street will be on Sunday, September 8. Based on the shutter announcement, co-owners chef Chad Dolezal and general manager Victor Farnsworth will hold onto the space, as confirmed by Eater. 'Stay tuned to hear about our plans for the space,' they wrote on Instagram and Facebook. They will turn the space into something new with 'some old friends,' as Dolezal told Eater, that 'will be a great fit for our corner.' While the concept wasn’t disclosed yet, it will be revealed at a later date. Dolezal and Farnsworth opened the easygoing New American/Texan restaurant six years ago in January 2014. It was known for its great happy hour and that prime covered patio facing East 7th Street. Highlighted dishes included Brussels sprouts with sambal, pozole rojo soup dumplings, Dutch baby pancakes, and frozen cocktails." - Nadia Chaudhury
