"Promising something different to compete with the numerous, quality Korean barbecue options in and around Chinatown, newcomer 888 Korean BBQ is taking its concept from the lucky and auspicious numbers in its name. I was told the restaurant will move into the high-profile Chinatown Plaza across Spring Mountain Road and is scheduled to open by the end of the year; it plans to serve a collection of eight selections for lunch and dinner—beef, pork, and seafood—and claims to be the first Korean restaurant in Las Vegas to serve kurobata, natural pork belly, a cut more frequently found on Japanese menus. Other premium meat upgrades will include prime steak and wagyu presented on custom-made, lacquer-coated oakwood platters crafted by a carpenter in South Korea, and an exact opening date and future hours have yet to be announced." - Bradley Martin
