"I noticed the South Korean bakery chain opened its first Austin location this month at 110 Jacob Fontaine Lane in the Highland neighborhood, debuting on August 4. At Paris Baguette I found it’s known for Korean and French baked goods — fruit-and-cream-filled brioches, mochi doughnuts, red bean buns, croissants, tarts, pain aux raisins, and egg tarts — plus prettily decorated decadent cakes available by the slice or whole and breads like baguettes, milk bread, and croissant loaves. It’s not just sweets: there are savory items such as sandwiches (some made on baguettes), wraps, and salads, and drinks include hot and iced coffee and espresso beverages, matchas, teas, and hot chocolates. The Austin location features indoor and outdoor seating, but online ordering isn’t available yet. The chain was started by co-owner/founder Hur Young-in in 1986 (SPC Group formed in 2004), expanded globally, opened its first U.S. spot in Los Angeles in 2005, and already has locations in Houston and the Dallas–Fort Worth area." - Nadia Chaudhury
