Dance Venue Good Room Is in Danger of Shuttering Soon | Eater NY

"A popular Greenpoint dance spot with an address at 98 Meserole Avenue near Manhattan Avenue, Good Room — which opened seven years ago and quickly became a borough favorite — now faces possible closure in about three months unless it secures funding: I learned from booking manager Josh Houtkin that the venue was denied the Shuttered Venue Operators Grant (Save Our Stages) and is scrambling to cover 18 months of back rent and other expenses, and it was not immediately clear why it did not qualify. The club remained closed through the pandemic until reopening in September, and since reopening this fall the team has been putting together events with local DJs to help fundraise for operating costs." - Emma Orlow
