"I'm intrigued by Red Bird, set inside Sean Brock’s new Appalachian compound in East Nashville; it's described as the approachable downstairs dining room with a daily-changing menu and an intention to be 'sort of a Chez Panisse for the food of Appalachia.' Construction has recently begun on the site, which is expected to open in early 2020, and Red Bird is positioned as the more relaxed, everyday outlet within a larger project that will also include a podcast, heirloom seed bank, Appalachian art, and a mindfulness center for the team." - Delia Jo Ramsey
