"I'm excited that Nashville’s first plant-based taqueria is setting up shop inside the Nashville Farmers’ Market this fall. Succulent Vegan Tacos, a Mexico City street food–inspired spot from Adriana Ortega and Ronald Cerdas that began in 2017 out of a business incubator program, has made monthly appearances in the Market’s Grow Local Kitchen. Ortega and Cerdas—who moved to Nashville over twenty years ago from Mexico City and Costa Rica and transitioned to a plant-based diet several years ago—have developed a fully vegan menu that stays true to Mexican recipes and flavors. They offer more than tacos: tamales, weekend brunch, vegan pan dulce (including their popular conchas), plus rotating specials from enchiladas and tortas to other antojitos less commonly found in Nashville. For now they sell heat-and-serve vegan meals online through the Nashville Farmers’ Market What’s Good app and in person at East Nashville’s Citizen Market, and they share updates on Facebook and Instagram." - Delia Jo Ramsey
