"Nashville’s first plant-based taqueria, Succulent Vegan Tacos, is setting up shop inside the Nashville Farmers’ Market this fall. The Mexico City street food-inspired spot from owners Adriana Ortega and Ronald Cerdas was born in 2017 out of a business incubator program, and has since made monthly appearances in the Nashville Farmers’ Market’s Grow Local Kitchen. Ortega and Cerdas came to Nashville over twenty years ago, from Mexico City and Costa Rica, respectively. The couple transitioned to a plant-based diet several years ago, and since honed in on developing a fully vegan menu that maintains true to Mexican recipes and flavors. Succulent Vegan Tacos offers more than just tacos — there’s an entirely vegan menu also featuring tamales, weekend, brunch, vegan pan dulce (including the duo’s popular conchas), plus weekend brunch and rotating specials from enchiladas and tortas to other antojitos less commonly found in Nashville. For now, Succulent Vegan Tacos sells heat-and-serve vegan meals online through the Nashville Farmers’ Market What’s Good app, plus in person at East Nashville’s Citizen Market. The tacos were good but not mind blowing or something I’d go out of my way for. The flavours were good but nothing stood out. We got the 3 for $12 and we’re happy with the value. Grateful to find a vegan taco spot.

I tried this spot a few years ago, and remembered that there was nothing exciting about the food. I figured I’d give them a try again, unfortunately, just about the same experience. I ordered 1 taco papas, 1 taco asada, 1 taco Al pastor, rice, beans, and esquites with added takis. The tacos were all disappointing, I didn’t finish eating them, they all lacked flavor, and the sauces didn’t aide in adding much to it. The beans were tasty, but the esquites was somewhat of a savior of my meal. The esquites was very delicious; truly the highlight! I would only come back for the esquites, no more tacos for me.

Great vegan spot inside Nashville Farmers' Market. Their hours are limited, but the food never disappoints. My favs are the al pastor and the asada. The tinga is good too. I have yet to try the papas. Off menu specials are offered like the vegan fish taco I enjoyed on this day.

Fantastic vegan spot with lots of gluten free options!! Menu is clearly marked with GF options (only a couple things are not). I’ve had the tinga, papas, and asada tacos, the esquites, some weekend specials (stuffed poblano - pleaseeee bring it back) and a weekend tamale as well! Staff is very friendly and my fav taco is the papas probably but they’re all unique and flavorful. The tamale was also tasty and I loveeeed the esquite (basically street corn in a cup) but I always love street corn.

Super neat grab and go vegan place! I love the decorations and their service was quick. I noticed people started to line up before the shop even opened, so be mindful that it could be busy when you go too! Although worth the wait :) The tacos were flavorful and fresh, not to mention served with a smile and quickly too! I highly recommend this place and will be back to try more of their creations!

One of my favorite vegan and Mexican restaurants in Nashville. Before college I went here all the time and now it’s the only thing I crave when I’m at school. My family and I made a tradition of going for ‘one last lunch’ together every time before I move back to school and Succulent never disappoints!
