Nashville’s First Plant-Based Taqueria, Succulent Vegan Tacos, Opens Soon at the Farmers’ Market - Eater Nashville

"Nashville’s first plant-based taqueria, Succulent Vegan Tacos, is setting up shop inside the Nashville Farmers’ Market this fall. The Mexico City street food-inspired spot from owners Adriana Ortega and Ronald Cerdas was born in 2017 out of a business incubator program, and has since made monthly appearances in the Nashville Farmers’ Market’s Grow Local Kitchen. Ortega and Cerdas came to Nashville over twenty years ago, from Mexico City and Costa Rica, respectively. The couple transitioned to a plant-based diet several years ago, and since honed in on developing a fully vegan menu that maintains true to Mexican recipes and flavors. Succulent Vegan Tacos offers more than just tacos — there’s an entirely vegan menu also featuring tamales, weekend, brunch, vegan pan dulce (including the duo’s popular conchas), plus weekend brunch and rotating specials from enchiladas and tortas to other antojitos less commonly found in Nashville. For now, Succulent Vegan Tacos sells heat-and-serve vegan meals online through the Nashville Farmers’ Market What’s Good app, plus in person at East Nashville’s Citizen Market. Follow along for more information with Succulent Vegan Tacos on Facebook and Instagram." - Delia Jo Ramsey

Hands. Down. My. Favorite. Place. In. Nashville. The tacos were so good that I made it a point to visit again before leaving. I was able to try all (4) tacos over the course of two visits. The Asada were my absolute fave, especially when adding a little of that homemade green sauce on top. Having traveled and lived in many states across the US, it was a pleasant surprise to find a vegan taco shop that reminded me a bit of my SoCal roots. While my research for restaurants in Nashville were primarily focused on vegan options and proximity to the conference site, I was delighted to partake in the unexpected atmosphere of this Farmers' Market. Between the great food, eclectic selection of venders, and eco-friendly set up, this Farmers' Market was a big highlight of my trip. I would highly recommend to other traveling professionals, especially if you are attempting to grab a bite with others who have different dietary preferences. It was also a huge bonus that the Bicentennial Capital Mall State Park was right outside. I will always go out of my way to visit Succulent Vegan Tacos when in Nashville. It is just that good.

This booth in the farmer’s market is excellent. They have a wide selection of food to choose from for gluten-free vegans. Their potato tacos are excellent. Don’t knock it til you try potato tacos. The esquites are a delicious snack that are 100% vegan! They served the food quickly and it’s hard to beat the atmosphere of the Nashville’s Farmer Market.

This was a good place to eat. They have a variety of tacos to try and the beans and rice were great as well.

A very cute restaurant with sweet staff. I ordered the two Al Pastor tacos and a jackfruit tamale. I wanted to love the food so much but I couldn’t finish the plate. It was extremely bland, lacking much needed flavor. Even the corn tortilla was bland. I also got the Agua Frescas and it had no taste at all. Spent $25 for everything.

Really great vegan tacos. Limited options but the available options were good with double wrapped authentic tortillas. Would recommend if you're exploring through the area and need a quick bite. Food was made for a double order in less than 10 mins.

I absolutely love this place! Every time I get food from this vegan spot, it’s bursting with flavor! The ingredients are fresh, the seasoning is on point, and the textures are perfect—it’s clear they put a lot of thought into crafting their dishes. Whether you’re vegan or not, the food here is just good. I had the Asada tacos, and they were incredible—so flavorful and satisfying! On top of that, the customer service is always warm and welcoming. The staff is friendly, helpful, and happy to answer any questions about the menu. I also appreciate the convenient location inside the Nashville Farmers’ Market. If you’re in Nashville and craving amazing Mexican flavors with great service, this place is a must-try!

The tacos were good but not mind blowing or something I’d go out of my way for. The flavours were good but nothing stood out. We got the 3 for $12 and we’re happy with the value. Grateful to find a vegan taco spot.
