Succulent Vegan Tacos - Review - Germantown - Nashville - The Infatuation

"Inside the Nashville Farmer’s Market is a booth where you can get soft steamed taco shells filled with a bunch of tasty stuff. Like a play on al pastor with seitan in a buoyant vinegar-based sauce and finely diced pineapple. Or a tinga, heavy on the carrot, with notes of curry. Whatever fillings or combinations you choose, the street-sized tacos are easily cupped to eat with one hand while you hold your box in the other and browse around the market. Three tacos for $14 is pretty good, too, so if you want to get more than you can feasibly carry, there are tables in the food court area ready to receive you and your goods." - Ann Walczak

Nashville’s Best Restaurants for Passover | Eater Nashville

"Find Mexico City-style tacos brimming with seitan al pastor, chipotle carrots tinga, and soy asada at Nashville’s first-ever fully vegan taqueria. Not only that but Succulent’s fare is kosher certified by the Nashville Kashrut Commission under the supervision of Rabbi Saul Strosberg. Founders Adriana Ortega and Ronald Cerdas moved to Nashville more than two decades ago from Mexico City and Costa Rica, respectively, and operate out of the Nashville Farmers Market Tuesday through Sunday for lunch." - Kellie Walton

"Opening inside the Nashville Farmers’ Market this fall, Succulent Vegan Tacos is Nashville’s first plant-based taqueria from Adriana Ortega and Ronald Cerdas; born in 2017 out of a business incubator and a regular in the market’s Grow Local Kitchen, the spot offers a fully vegan menu that aims to stay true to Mexican recipes and flavors." - Delia Jo Ramsey

Nashville’s First Plant-Based Taqueria, Succulent Vegan Tacos, Opens Soon at the Farmers’ Market | Eater Nashville

"I'm excited that Nashville’s first plant-based taqueria is setting up shop inside the Nashville Farmers’ Market this fall. Succulent Vegan Tacos, a Mexico City street food–inspired spot from Adriana Ortega and Ronald Cerdas that began in 2017 out of a business incubator program, has made monthly appearances in the Market’s Grow Local Kitchen. Ortega and Cerdas—who moved to Nashville over twenty years ago from Mexico City and Costa Rica and transitioned to a plant-based diet several years ago—have developed a fully vegan menu that stays true to Mexican recipes and flavors. They offer more than tacos: tamales, weekend brunch, vegan pan dulce (including their popular conchas), plus rotating specials from enchiladas and tortas to other antojitos less commonly found in Nashville. For now they sell heat-and-serve vegan meals online through the Nashville Farmers’ Market What’s Good app and in person at East Nashville’s Citizen Market, and they share updates on Facebook and Instagram." - Delia Jo Ramsey

Hands. Down. My. Favorite. Place. In. Nashville. The tacos were so good that I made it a point to visit again before leaving. I was able to try all (4) tacos over the course of two visits. The Asada were my absolute fave, especially when adding a little of that homemade green sauce on top. Having traveled and lived in many states across the US, it was a pleasant surprise to find a vegan taco shop that reminded me a bit of my SoCal roots. While my research for restaurants in Nashville were primarily focused on vegan options and proximity to the conference site, I was delighted to partake in the unexpected atmosphere of this Farmers' Market. Between the great food, eclectic selection of venders, and eco-friendly set up, this Farmers' Market was a big highlight of my trip. I would highly recommend to other traveling professionals, especially if you are attempting to grab a bite with others who have different dietary preferences. It was also a huge bonus that the Bicentennial Capital Mall State Park was right outside. I will always go out of my way to visit Succulent Vegan Tacos when in Nashville. It is just that good.

This booth in the farmer’s market is excellent. They have a wide selection of food to choose from for gluten-free vegans. Their potato tacos are excellent. Don’t knock it til you try potato tacos. The esquites are a delicious snack that are 100% vegan! They served the food quickly and it’s hard to beat the atmosphere of the Nashville’s Farmer Market.

Google
This 5 star review is full of heart ache. They're food is so good. But it has been 278 days since my last vegan tamale. I check the menu with the deepest of hopes that the tamales will be listed, but alas they are not. Why are they hoarding these beautiful things? WHYYYY!? I beseech thee to add the Tamales back to the menu and keep them on the menu as regular items. We are in dark times and the light of the tamales must shine thru!

This was a good place to eat. They have a variety of tacos to try and the beans and rice were great as well.

These tacos make me not miss meat! So delicious and filling. Also their service is top notch with very friendly staff. Even if you aren’t vegan, you’ll enjoy the food here. They are located in a stall inside the Nashville farmers market and there’s usually plenty of seating unless you go on Saturday.

Google
Vegan, yes! But the taste and texture was amazing! This group has a handle on creating bold authentic flavor without the meat. If you are on the fence about a veggie lifestyle, this is a great place to get a jump start. Not all vegan foods are the same just like meat products. The passion that goes into the preparation is what makes it so special! My fav was the asada taco but they are all delicious. Don’t forget a cup of elote too! Team was great, food was delicious! I’m a very happy to return customer!
