"Founded by Andrew Tolentino as a love letter to his Filipino and Asian American identity, this bustling team produces items like ube pandan puffs and matcha blondies alongside lemon cake slices with yuzu buttercream and vegan chai cakes; the operation has also expanded into custom cakes. Tolentino’s pivot from community bake sales (supporting Black Lives Matter and End Asian Hate efforts) during the pandemic helped turn his work into a business; after vying for a Vacant to Vibrant storefront he found a unit in the Madelon and marked the outpost’s first birthday in April. Instagram first tipped him to his bakery neighbors, and after doors opened he introduced himself in person. "We all focus on our own flavors," Tolentino says.
