"Opening Thursday, July 12 at Philly’s original food hall, Reading Terminal Market, Loco Lucho is a Puerto Rican street-food stall from chef Luis Liceaga, who grew up in San Juan and already runs a local catering company called Loco Lucho’s Latino Kitchen; cooking runs in the family—his great aunt Carmen Aboy Valldejuli authored one of the first Puerto Rican cookbooks, Cocina Criolla—and he’s joined by Rafi Nieto, whose mother is Puerto Rican and father Cuban. The chefs specialize in snacks and street food such as marinated skirt steak skewers with chimichurri sauce and empanadas (including cheesesteak and chicken cheesesteak versions) served with mayoketchup, and the stall will also offer fried chicken, crab croquettes, seafood paella, chicken and sausage paella, and a Cuban sandwich made with sweet ham, Swiss cheese, mustard, and pickles. Other sandwiches include the Philly Special—with pork, chicken, steak, Loco sauce, and potato sticks on the sandwich—and a veggie option with Portobello mushroom, onion, and sweet peppers. Loco Lucho will be serving daily from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. from a spot between Avenues C and 5 that was formerly occupied by La Divisa Meats." - Rachel Vigoda
