"Set to occupy the former Citizen space at 184 N. Canon Drive, steps from the iconic Spago, Salt Bae (Nusret Gökçe) appears to be lining up a Beverly Hills outpost of his eponymous steakhouse, with a liquor-license posting visible in the window even though Citizen’s nearly two-year-gone signage still remains on the outside. The project is clearly far from complete, with the launch now expected sometime in late 2020 or—more likely—into 2021, though it’s unclear if and when the 90210 place will open. The move represents an LA expansion of Gökçe’s meat empire, which already includes Nusr‑Et locations in Miami (where he was accused of wage theft), New York City, and across Istanbul, Dubai, and Greece; a planned Dallas steakhouse has yet to materialize. Gökçe had also long promised a run of casual burger restaurants (including a never-realized Arts District site), but people associated with the deal say he preferred to skew upscale with a steakhouse further west." - Farley Elliott
