"A viral Korean salt-bread pop-up run by husband-and-wife team Gemma Lee and Luis Kim is moving into a permanent bakery in Koreatown. Salt bread is described here as the savory, buttery rolls popularized in Korean bakeries and cafes—often topped with corn, cream, black sesame, and more. The pop-up began out of Lee and Kim’s home in June 2024; at first the pair didn’t have the money to open their own place, so they operated out of their kitchen, but as the business grew it became too big for their home and prompted a search for a new location. When the bakery opens, the duo will sell their best-selling eight-pack with flavors like original, everything seasoning, black sesame, corn, matcha, and pistachio, and they plan to offer specials like yuzu alongside drinks and salt-bread sandwiches. The opening is currently slated for April 2025." - Rebecca Roland
