"Opened in March as a high-tech, $75 million, 100,000-square-foot, four-story driving range just north of the Las Vegas Strip next to the Strat, I found the venue offers a sprawling 212-yard range with technology that tracks players’ statistics, a digital Putting District that uses projection mapping for its putting bays, and a multi-use room called the Astrocade covered in floor-to-ceiling displays for entertainment or watching sports. Before opening it hosted a hiring event to contract hundreds of staff to run its more than 100 driving ranges, six full-service bars, kitchens, lounges, and event spaces, but I noted that by late May the venue was already conducting layoffs—staff confirmed a “substantial” number were let go and a Reddit-posted email indicated about 250 positions were being eliminated, potentially impacting up to half of its staff. The kitchen is run by former Top of the World executive chef Robert Lomeli and serves bites such as chicharron nachos with chorizo and queso blanco, a trio of pulled pork sliders with pickles, and crispy chicken sandwiches, while the VIP lounge offers seafood towers, caviar service, and an 18-ounce ribeye steak." - Janna Karel
