"A former Mar Vista grocery store has been transformed into one of the neighborhood’s most exciting new restaurants. Jeremy Adler, a partner at Santa Monica’s Cobi’s, purchased the space in 2023 and brought Michael Leonard on as the chef. Leonard’s menu seamlessly brings together California and Italian cooking with dishes like focaccia, crispy artichokes, and goat-cheese-filled zucchini blossoms. Getting the pizza dough just right was a months-long project, culminating in a blistered, puffy crust topped with ingredients like mushrooms, pepperoni, zucchini, and ricotta. A fiery oven is the centerpiece of the restaurant, and the primary cooking method for proteins like snapper, hanger steak, and pork collar.
