"Opening in the Golden Belt campus at 800 Taylor St., this third and largest taproom from an Asheville-based brewery is built as a destination-focused, high-energy space rather than a production facility. The indoor taproom covers 8,844 square feet with a 1,678-square-foot covered patio and beer garden, and while production won’t be the emphasis there is room for a potential pilot system later. Entertainment features include full-sized shuffleboard courts, soccer-pool tables (giant astroturf pool tables), and table tennis with plans for organized leagues; food offerings are expected to come from rotating Raleigh/Durham food trucks and possibly a campus restaurant menu. Twenty-four taps will pour the brewery’s full lineup along with wines, local ciders and guest taps, and recommended beers to start with are the top-selling Hi-Pitch Mosaic IPA (noted for biscuit and grass notes and mild bitterness) and the flagship lager (light, crisp, clean finish). The space was targeted to open in October 2018 as part of a broader plan to expand the taproom footprint into new cities." - Katie Toussaint
