A James Beard Dinner Featuring Some of Detroit’s Best Chefs Is Coming to Gratiot Avenue | Eater Detroit
"An Eater Award–winning Gratiot restaurant led by chef Omar Anani, a two-time James Beard Award finalist in the Best Chef: Great Lakes category. The operation is deeply community-minded: it runs a community kitchen launched in 2020 that prepares hundreds of free meals daily and is developing a new restaurant project intended to provide affordable housing for members of the culinary community. It will host a James Beard Foundation Taste America pop-up dinner on Wednesday, October 9, featuring a collaboration between the owner and Top Chef Season 18 alum Kiki Louya; there are two seatings (5:30 p.m. and 8 p.m.), tickets are $150, and proceeds support the Foundation’s programming.
