"Opening on Tuesday, May 7 in the Govalle neighborhood at 5000 East Cesar Chavez Street, Lil’ Easy Fine Cajun Food & Bar will focus on Southern Louisiana food and cocktails. Expect an array of Cajun dishes such as charcoal-grilled oysters, po’ boys, meat pies, jambalaya and more, plus New Orleans-ish drinks like hurricanes and frozen cocktails; the finalized menu is still being worked on, though the team has already hosted pop-ups this year including a Mardi Gras event and a crawfish boil. The spot’s logo is a cool alligator wearing sunglasses sitting at a table with a drink. It’s run by 2 Dine 4 Hospitality, founded by chef-owner Stephen Shallcross in 1994 (the group also operates event space Swoop House, Sawyer & Co., and De Nada), and ahead of Lil’ Easy’s opening the group shifted Sawyer & Co.’s food focus from New Orleans to Texas comfort food. Hours will be 11 a.m. to midnight Monday through Friday and 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday, with indoor and outdoor dine-in areas." - Nadia Chaudhury
