"Opening October 19 in the former Wings World space at the corner of Venice and Redondo Boulevards, this Mid-City outpost from a group of former New Yorkers (including a Linden partner) brought two classic New York bodega sandwiches to LA: the chopped cheese and the bacon, egg, and cheese. Partner Anthony Arias explains a chopped cheese is traditionally made with beef patties, onions, seasoning, and cheese chopped together on the grill; in Los Angeles they offer it with beef or Impossible plant-based meat on a hero or Kaiser roll, with grilled mushrooms as an option. The menu also includes non-New York items such as a spinach wrap, breakfast burrito, and loaded potato tots, served with LA-style aguas frescas, and they even sell Sunkist grape soda. Mindful of gentrification and the neighborhood's history, Arias wants the shop to accurately represent the community; having started as a food truck and later a tent location, the team opened a Hollywood location in May 2023 (which stays open late) and set the Mid-City spot to operate daily from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m." - Mona Holmes
